What is iNAP?

iNAP is a new oral negative pressure device for the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea in adults.

The system uses a soft, flexible mouthpiece, thin tubing, and a quiet battery-powered console the size of a smartphone to deliver a light, oral vacuum during sleep to comfortably keep the airway open while breathing normally through the nose.

While you sleep, iNAP delivers a gentle suction inside the oral cavity, moving the tongue forward and away from the airway as shown on the video above.

When you’re ready for bed, simply insert the mouthpiece and click on the power button. iNAP’s intermittent negative airway pressure effectively eliminates apnea by keeping the airway open and allowing you to breathe naturally and sleep peacefully.

Are you a candidate for iNAP?

Your own sleep doctor may be able to determine if you are a good candidate for iNAP.  It’s important to mention to your doctor any issues related to your mouth, nose, or airway that concern you. Here are good candidates:

  • Adults who have been diagnosed with all severities of OSA
  • Must be able to breathe well through the nose during sleep.
  • Must be motivated & committed to trying a new therapy and willing to acclimate to the new therapy, which could take a few weeks.
  • Must be free of major issues concerning teeth, gums, soft palate, or nasal / sinus issues. Must not have had UPPP procedure
  • In order to improve patient's response, must be willing to have iNAP settings modified by MD
